Community Partnership Program

In an effort to provide Patrol Officers and the community with an opportunity to interact with each other in a constructive manner, at the direction of Police Chief Thurman, Luther Police Department has developed a Community Partnership Program.

The Community Partnership Program is designed to increase the number of positive contacts between patrol officers and the community to dispel pre-conceived notions and encourage new relationships.

The program will not interfere with the Officer's primary mission of reducing crime, but should enhance it by ensuring greater Officer's safety and knowledge of neighborhood crime conditions along with familiarizing themselves with the community they serve and its key leaders.

The Town of Luther continues to be one of the safest communities to live in the State of Oklahoma. Recent crime statistics show Luther has one of the lowest crime rates in the state in relation to cities of comparable size. This can be attributed to many factors, but one of the most prevalent and important is the relationship between the citizens and the department. Continued efforts in building partnerships and the sense of shared responsibility to the quality of life will continue to be one of our main goals in order to provide the best in services and protection.
